Hi everyone! My name is Crystal. I am 31 years old. I am married to an amazing man and we have a 3yr old son and have a son on the way (due Sept 10th)! I have been crocheting since I was 9!
I love being able to make all sorts of things out of yarn. It's amazing to watch the process of what's basically a piece of string become this wonderful item. Be it a dress (yes, i made my own wedding dress), hat, sweater, blanket, amigurumi (stuffed toy), or even a baby rattle.
I used to make anything and everything that anyone wanted but have since found my niche making baby rattles and loveys! It's amazing seeing the joy on a baby's face when they are playing with a rattle I made for them. 😍🥰

People ask me, how do you clean the rattles and loveys you make? So I decided to make a graphic about it! It's super easy to do! Just spot clean with a wet cloth (or even a wipe) and let dry! Putting them in the washer can cause the wooden ring on the rattles to warp, crack, or even break. Putting them in the dryer can also cause the wooden ring to break and may not get the filling completely dry which may allow mold to grow.

My go-to yarn is Hobby Lobby's I Love This Cotton Yarn! It is sourced from cotton grown right here in the USA and it is SOOOOOOOO soft!! Perfect for baby rattles and loveys!
Cotton being a natural fiber, it is safe for baby. And babies love the feel of the rattles and loveys made with this yarn!
The tools I use are:
My Furls Odyssey hooks, Amour Ergonomic handle hooks, my hook stand that my husband made by hand for me for Christmas two years ago, and last but not least, a set that my mom gave me for Christmas two years ago that has scissors, a thimble, a needle case, a tapestry needle, and an awl.

This is my son standing in a cotton field back in Virginia. He LOVED seeing the cotton and touching it.
Speaking of cotton fields, I think it's important to support my country by using materials grown and made here. That's why I use cotton yarn that was sourced from cotton grown in the USA. I also use filling for my Amigurumi that was made in the USA. I plan to find someone to buy the wooden rings from who makes them in the USA and gets the wood from trees grown in the USA!

Our family picture with Santa! I was hoping we'd be able to get the picture of just Mason with Santa but he wanted nothing to do with Santa. With COVID going on, Santa isn't allowed to hold the kids anymore so they are expected to sit on a bench a few feet in front of him. Mason would NOT let us set him down by himself. So we had to hold him. Thankfully we were dressed for the occasion! ⁣

Taking pictures with Santa was great! After Mason was done screaming because we set him down on the bench a few feet away from Santa-a stranger to him- even though we've shown him pictures of Santa to try to get him more comfortable 🤷‍♀️😅 I think Mason wanted one of the little ATVs though!
